Summary In 2016, I published a book chapter and two encyclopedia articles and continued my regular posting of my lecture notes to the web. In 2016 I also worked on a book project, a planned edited volume, on African-Americans in western film and television. I mentioned in my 2015 statement, that I would devote more of my research time to book projects and less to conference paper and more minor projects. And, thus, I did not attend conferences in 2016. However, do note that in April of 2017, I will be presenting two papers at two different conferences. In the latter part of 2016 I completed another book chapter on a video game, an encyclopedia article on racebending and a book review on science fiction literature.
