I am an assistant professor in the Mass Communications and Journalism Department
at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. Over the past 20
years, I have taught university level courses at universities in Ohio,
Washington, DC, New Mexico, New Jersey, Virginia and in the People's
Republic of China. I have taught a wide range of communication
courses. In the past I taught courses in interpersonal
communication, intercultural communication, advanced intercultural
communication, international sojourning/study abroad, communication
research methods, international media systems, public speaking,
rhetorical criticism, communication & 9/11. intro. to
communication, nonverbal communication, quantitative methods, diffusion
of innovations, organizational communication and organizational
diversity management. Currently at Norfolk State University I am
teaching intercultural communication, news/media writing, intro. to
mass media, media technologies, digital photography,
international/global communication and research methods. I also teach
the intro to mass media, media technologies, international
communication and intercultural communication courses at the graduate
level at NSU.
I am always interested in teaching new classes. I'm currently thinking
about courses in media criticism, script writing, skepticism/critical thinking and science/health news writing. See my CV for some more teaching details.
